Course Overview:

Welcome to Pokémon Academy, where young trainers embark on an exciting journey to explore the captivating world of Pokémon! Tailored for students in grades K-3, this course offers interactive lessons and hands-on activities designed to introduce the diverse and fascinating creatures known as Pokémon. Students will delve into the different types of Pokémon, their unique abilities, and the regions they inhabit. Throughout the class, kids will participate in engaging games and challenges that cultivate skills in teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving. They'll also have the chance to unleash their creativity by designing their own Pokémon characters, crafting Pokéballs, and participating in friendly Pokémon battles with their classmates. By the end of the course, students will walk away with not only a deeper understanding of the Pokémon universe but also invaluable lessons in friendship, perseverance, and sportsmanship.   • Introduction to Pokémon Types and Abilities: Students will explore different Pokémon types (e.g., fire, water, grass) and their unique abilities through interactive storytelling and multimedia presentations.
  • Create Your Own Pokémon: A hands-on art project where students design their own Pokémon characters, complete with unique abilities and backstories, fostering creativity and self-expression.

Please Note: This course is nonrefundable after 09/04/2024.

Program Schedule:

  • Students have a supervised snack period in the HCCS cafeteria from 2:20pm to 2:45pm.
  • Instructional sessions are scheduled from 2:45pm to 4:00pm, followed by a brief transition period for students from 4:00pm to 4:15pm.
  • After classes and transitioning, students can participate in various engaging after-school activities from 4:15pm to 5:30pm.
  • Options include joining student clubs, studying in the HCES library (for grades 2-6) or attending storytelling sessions (for grades K-1), and having free play in the cafeteria or courtyard. [Details about these activities, including club descriptions, schedules, and sign-up information, will be shared during the first week of school.]
