Hunter Debate Club Jr.
This course goes beyond a typical debate 101 class. It will help your child gain confidence and newfound communication skills to form strong arguments, defend viewpoints, and gain performance plasticity, a critical skill for future endeavors. Debate Club Jr. will explore the science of verbal and nonverbal communication and the art behind persuasion.
Throughout this class, we will utilize well-known literature to familiarize students with a cultured sense of skills in debate and persuasion theory. Skills, including public speaking, negotiations, interviewing, and of course, debate, will be reviewed and practiced in depth. Debate Jr. offers skills that your child will benefit from inside and outside of the classroom. Not only will academic skills be gained, but a newfound confidence will emerge.
