Cinema Kitchen

Course Overview:

Come play with your food at the CinemaKidz cooking show. Kids design the look and feel of the show, make an apron for the series, create cooking teams, and work in the test kitchen experimenting with various recipes to feature in each episode: from yummy favorites like vegetarian sushi and dumplings, to making homemade pastas, molecular gastronomy and food art!  Participants will cook, act, direct, film, and edit several episodes in this hands-on engaging class, and finish the course with several episodes made and an original kid-made show!

 

Please Note: This course is nonrefundable after 01/15/2025.

Program Schedule:

  • Students have a supervised snack period in the HCCS cafeteria from 2:20pm to 2:45pm.
  • Instructional sessions are scheduled from 2:45pm to 4:00pm, followed by a brief transition period for students from 4:00pm to 4:15pm.
  • After classes and transitioning, students can participate in various engaging after-school activities from 4:15pm to 5:30pm.
  • Options include joining student clubs, studying in the HCES library (for grades 2-6) or attending storytelling sessions (for grades K-1), and having free play in the cafeteria or courtyard.
