The Ultimaker: 3D Printing

Course Overview:

With an emphasis on digital design, students will explore the multiple ways you can manipulate in 3D.  Students will also study how 3D Digital Design and 3D printing have enhanced the real world and how it's changing for the better in industries such as education, engineering, medicine, technology, and more.  Apps available on the web, as well as iOS and Android, will be used. From Tinkercad, scratch, and Makerspace, we will continue to explore new apps as they become available.

• Students have a supervised snack period in the HCCS cafeteria from 2:20pm to 2:45pm.
• Instructional sessions are scheduled from 2:45pm to 4:00pm, followed by a brief transition period for students from 4:00pm to 4:15pm.
• After classes and transitioning, students can participate in various engaging after-school activities from 4:15pm to 5:30pm.
• Options include joining student clubs, studying in the HCES library (for grades 2-6) or attending storytelling sessions (for grades K-1), and having free play in the cafeteria or courtyard. [Details about these activities, including club descriptions, schedules, and sign-up information, will be shared during the first week of school.]
