Course Overview:

Embark on an exhilarating adventure into the realm of chemistry with "Exploring the Wonders of Chemistry"! This engaging course, designed specifically for 4th and 5th graders, will spark your child’s curiosity and encourage them to think like budding scientists. Through a series of exciting experiments and hands-on activities, students will delve into the fascinating world of atoms and molecules, uncovering the incredible reactions that form the foundation of our everyday lives. They will witness the magic of chemical changes, understand the significance of the periodic table, and even concoct their own bubbling mixtures! Join us on this educational journey and watch your child transform into a young chemist, ready to unlock the mysteries of the universe.

Program Schedule:

  • Students have a supervised snack period in the HCCS cafeteria from 2:20pm to 2:45pm.
  • Instructional sessions are scheduled from 2:45pm to 4:00pm, followed by a brief transition period for students from 4:00pm to 4:15pm.
  • After classes and transitioning, students can participate in various engaging after-school activities from 4:15pm to 5:30pm.
  • Options include joining student clubs, studying in the HCES library (for grades 2-6) or attending storytelling sessions (for grades K-1), and having free play in the cafeteria or courtyard. [Details about these activities, including club descriptions, schedules, and sign-up information, will be shared during the first week of school.]
