Provided by HCES Teacher, Mr. Villie
Course Overview:
Working as authors, illustrators, and designers, students will use everyday materials to create unique book works. Participants will learn how to hand-sew pamphlets, do Japanese stab stitching books, create tunnel books, and create various other hard—and soft-cover books. At the end of the semester, students' artwork will be displayed in the Hawk's Nest Art Gallery for parents to view.
- Students have a supervised snack period in the HCCS cafeteria from 2:20pm to 2:45pm.
- Instructional sessions are scheduled from 2:45pm to 4:00pm, followed by a brief transition period for students from 4:00pm to 4:15pm.
- After classes and transitioning, students can participate in various engaging after-school activities from 4:15pm to 5:30pm.
- Options include joining student clubs, studying in the HCES library (for grades 2-6) or attending storytelling sessions (for grades K-1), and having free play in the cafeteria or courtyard. [Details about these activities, including club descriptions, schedules, and sign-up information, will be shared during the first week of school.]
