Course Overview:

In this engaging and interactive class, young actors can explore their creativity, boost their confidence, and develop their performance skills in a fun and supportive environment. Throughout the course, students will engage in drama activities such as improvisation, storytelling, role-playing, and character development. They will learn to use their voices, bodies, and facial expressions to convey emotions and bring characters to life on stage. Through collaborative games and exercises, students will enhance their communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Our experienced instructors are passionate about nurturing the imagination and talents of young performers. They will encourage students to express themselves, take risks, and embrace their unique abilities. At the end of the class, students can showcase their newfound skills in a final performance, where they can shine and share their creativity with friends and family.

Participating in drama class benefits young learners by improving language skills, fostering social development, boosting self-confidence, and nurturing critical thinking. Students enhance vocabulary and communication through storytelling, develop teamwork and empathy, and gain confidence by performing. The course encourages creative risk-taking, critical thinking, and problem-solving through improvisation and character exercises.

 

Program Schedule:

  • Students have a supervised snack period in the HCCS cafeteria from 2:20pm to 2:45pm.
  • Instructional sessions are scheduled from 2:45pm to 4:00pm, followed by a brief transition period for students from 4:00pm to 4:15pm.
  • After classes and transitioning, students can participate in various engaging after-school activities from 4:15pm to 5:30pm.
  • Options include joining student clubs, studying in the HCES library (for grades 2-6) or attending storytelling sessions (for grades K-1), and having free play in the cafeteria or courtyard.
