Ocean Adventures: Dive into the Wonders of the Deep
Taught by Hawk's Nest Science Teacher Ms. Coleman
Course Overview:
Dive deep into the exciting world of the ocean and discover the incredible creatures and ecosystems that thrive beneath the waves! In this course, young scientists will explore the wonders of ocean life, from the colorful coral reefs to the vast deep sea. Through hands-on activities, creative crafts, and real-world experiments, students will learn about marine biology, ocean habitats, and how we can protect our oceans.
Throughout the course, students will embark on ocean explorations each week, investigating the diversity of ocean creatures, the importance of healthy marine ecosystems, and the ways in which humans impact the oceans. They’ll learn about fish, sharks, sea turtles, whales, and other sea creatures, and discover the amazing ways these animals adapt to life in the water. Students will build ocean dioramas, simulate coral reef ecosystems, and investigate the science behind ocean currents and tides. They’ll also learn about the environmental challenges facing the oceans, like pollution and climate change, and discover ways they can help protect marine life.
By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of marine life, the importance of preserving the ocean, and a sense of responsibility toward protecting our seas for future generations.
